We're growing and this has created an opportunity for a SQL Server DBA to join us. Our Database Support team are responsible for supporting an array of databases including SQL Server, Oracle and PostgreSQL both On-Premise and in the cloud via Amazon Web Services. We provide support for internal systems, back office functions and customer facing services and provide active monitoring for all rote to live environments. The existing team is 9 strong and collaborates to work on various types of initiatives from migrating databases to delivering projects and providing consultancy to the database team’s internal and external customers.


What you’ll do

As a SQL Server DBA, you’ll work in a hybrid database environment and be responsible for the management and effective day to day running of the SQL Server database environments. The databases supported by the team include SQL Server, Oracle, and PostgreSQL. You’ll monitor database performance, performance tune and optimise where required, archive data, document database architectures, processes, policies and procedures and ensure these are kept up to date. Using your strong databases administration skills, you’ll migrate existing development and production services to new infrastructure and upgrade to new software releases. The varied nature of the work will give you the opportunity to acquire new skills whilst collaborating with your peers and wider partners of the business. We operate in an agile environment and the team takes part in regular sprints and also make recommendations on operational matters, capacity management and performance issues. You’ll be a great teammate and will aspire to work multi-functionally sharing your knowledge and drive your learning to diversify your skills.
