What are the key activities of this role?

  • Be a passionate ambassador for the product; possess a profound understanding of our customer and end user needs
  • Inspire and support the software delivery team in their quest to delight customers through high value deliverables
  • Maximise and communicate the value and ROI of the product and the work of the software delivery team
  • Possess the ability to question solutions offered up by your development team. Consider viability and value not only internally but to our clients-own the product
  • Enable software delivery by ensuring that the teams understand how their work enables the execution of the requests made of them
  • Own the Product backlog, prioritising to maximise reward in the form of business value, managing stakeholder (Client and internal) needs for development and CR’s measuring, uncertainty and risk
  • Ensure that the Product Backlog is visible, transparent, and clear to all and understood by the software delivery team to the level needed and shows what the team will work on next
  • Forecast and communicate product roadmap and release projections
  • Be a team player always learning and listening to others around and considering their opinions
  • Propose ways to collect interpret and improve objective, verifiable evidence to measure the value delivered through product deliverables.
  • Provide demonstrations of new ideas and features to stakeholders and sponsors
  • Demonstrate leadership skills
  • Bring fresh new ideas to the PO team from past experience


What you’ll need

  • Hold a track record in delivery of ideas and innovations to market in an Agile environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and excellent knowledge and experience in stakeholder involvement, customer engagement, servant leadership, situational awareness
  • Knowledge and understanding of numerous agile approaches and how that effects your delivery
  • Experience of working in an Agile environment with an understanding of the Scrum framework
  • An excellent self-organiser and experience in getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work

  • First level Scrum Product Owner certification (PSPO I, CSPO) or equivalent
  • Extensive experience in delivering software and dealing with development challenges

The start date for the role is 1st October 2019.
